Centavo (Nickel en inglés) es un concursante masculino en Inanimate Insanity que participó en Team Epic. Regresó en Inanimate Insanity II como miembro de The Grand Slams. Regresó una vez más en Inanimate Insanity Invitational y fue miembro de Los Hundidores hasta pasarse a Los Nuevos Pensadores. Compitió por sí mismo en la unión hasta su eliminación "El Show Debe Continuar", causada porque Globo orquestó su eliminación para separar sus juegos de cara al jurado.
Es interpretado por Adam Katz en la versión original en inglés, y por Charly Wolfy en la versión en español.
Personalidad[]
Conocido por su excepcional gusto por el sarcasmo, Centavo es un personaje crítico que también es sarcástico, grosero y de mal genio. El tropo más identificador de Centavo es su característico sarcasmo, que utiliza para convertir los pensamientos malos en su cabeza para no parecer grosero e irrespetuoso con los demás. Aunque es posible que esta estrategia no siempre funcione, Centavo todavía considera el sarcasmo como un arte y a él mismo como un artista.
Como personaje sin brazos, Centavo no puede lograr hazañas tan fácilmente como los demás, pero generalmente está decidido a hacer todo lo posible. Al mismo tiempo, Centavo expresa un gran desinterés en competir en muchos de los desafíos de YoPhone4 y comúnmente se lo ve con una expresión de mal humor cuando compite.
Aunque Béisbol es el líder de The Grand Slams, Centavo ocasionalmente toma la iniciativa y da órdenes a otros. Sin embargo, el sarcasmo y el ingenio de Centavo lo hacen parecer astuto. Como resultado, normalmente no trabaja bien con los demás y, en cambio, puede hacer comentarios o insultos groseros y oprobios sobre ellos, provocando desviaciones en sus relaciones.
Centavo es cercano a su alianza sin brazos, que consiste en Béisbol y Maleta, y se les puede ver trabajando juntos como un trío en la mayoría de los desafíos. Centavo es considerablemente desconfiado, sin embargo, ya que intenta repetidamente disociar su alianza con competidores como Queso y, más notablemente, Globo, quien continúa intentando redimirse. A pesar de ser bastante intolerante, implacable y antipático hasta cierto punto, Centavo forma un gran vínculo con Béisbol, a quien es leal.
Al ingresar a 'Insanidad Inanimada Invitacional' y ser colocado en Los Hundidores, Centavo vuelve a crear una alianza, esta vez con Caja y, lamentablemente, Globo, de quien aún sigue desconfiando. Por otro lado, Centavo comienza a "escuchar" a Caja y a poner toda su fe en él y, aunque Centavo comienza a desarrollar una ligera amistad con Globo, siguen teniendo problemas.
También se demostró que Centavo disfruta asesorando a otros sobre el sarcasmo. Como se ve en "A Kick in the Right Direction", Centavo intenta enseñarle a Cuchillo cómo usar el sarcasmo, que Cuchillo ahora también usa ocasionalmente.
Apariencia[]
Centavo es un personaje redondo en forma de moneda con dos lados: cara y cruz. Su cuerpo, incluidas sus llantas, es de color gris plateado brillante. Su rostro aparece del lado de la cabeza y sus piernas están en la parte inferior.

Nickle/Nickel Controversy[]

Due to many voters misspelling Nickel's name as "Nickle", the votes were not counted for "The Stacker", causing Lightbulb to be eliminated. After many fans raged on Lightbulb's elimination, resulted in the votes for "Nickel" being re-counted, eliminating Nickel, and bringing back Lightbulb, this also started the character Nick-Le, whose only quote so far is, "I'm highly offended!!"

- An infamous running gag with Nickel is that many viewers misspell his name as "Nickle", spawning the creation of the character Nick Le.
- For one frame in "Cooking For The Grater Good", his name was misspelled as Nickle right when the names just showed up.
- Nickel has been eliminated with the least amount of votes with 1 vote in "Kick the Bucket", even less than Paper's first elimination in "A Lemony Lesson".
- Nickel is the third contestant in Inanimate Insanity Invitational to turn golden via the Immunity Cookie. (The first and second contestants to do this were Archivo and Silver Spoon)
- Nickel is the only contestant in Inanimate Insanity Invitational to survive two tiebreakers. The first one by additional contestant vote in "Snapshot Showdown", and alongside Globo in the episode "Spring on the Breakfast!", they both survive just from a random chance.

- Taylor Grodin claimed in a Tumblr post that Inanimate Insanity and the BFDI series take place in separate universes, and therefore the Nickels in each show (while they look identical) are in fact separate characters.
- In the Fan's Fantastic Features episode "Nickel For Your Thoughts", it's revealed that Nickel's favorite color is Green.
- In the Inanimate Insanity Short "Waffling About", it's revealed that when he is given Experiment 626, he splits into two nickels; one where the sarcasm can cause shockwaves which strength is based on the receptor's reaction to the sarcasm, and one completely blank and emotionless.
- Nickel was originally planned to rank 4th in the first season, as it was planned to be a contestant vote all the way.
- In the change to viewer vote, he was the first eliminated. However, the misspelled Votes led to the creation of Nick Le and Bombilla being eliminated. This mistake would be fixed the following episode, however.
- Funnily enough, he ended up ranking 4th on Inanimate Insanity Invitational.
- According to MePhone4, Nickel was his second-least favorite contestant in the final 8 of Inanimate Insanity Invitational.

- A Nickel sticker and a sticker of Snowball from Battle for Dream Island made an appearance on the American news network Today on October 20th, 2023.[2]
- This makes Nickel the first II character to appear in a news program and Snowball from BFDI the second BFDI character to appear in a news program after Marker as well.
