(Bringing back this image to represent each team as a whole, while I'm discussing)
Now before I talk about the teams on-script, from the Notepad feature on my laptop, I did want to mention my previous posts about talking about these characters since I only talked mostly about the Season 4 newbies as a welcome review to understand how their first impressions are, and how I liked them, while others... need to be desired more, because I just don't like them or that they are just there standing not doing much. I still believe there is a way that every character should be impressive beyond the surface. So buckle, fasten your seatbelt, and let's consult about this right now.
So now that I talk about all my thoughts of every character as a plush for the 2025 Holiday Season, which is pretty awesome now that it's about to open next week, I wanted to look back and think how will these teams of four will strive to make a good name on their reputation equally as members of their own team. I do say I am pretty much seeing visions of every character that I really think has the best or the worst potential based on how they perform for which contribution each team has per member simply by analyzing and make such fascinating visions on how their role as characters and team members are being handled, as the series goes on.
Now that I briefly made a simple introduction, here's how this works. I will have to analyze each team based on the color order Fan selected for each contestant, which this is how the formula works as follows,
1. Blue
2. Red
3. Yellow
4. Green
Now that this is the order that's been used by Fan with the first people he chose being Magnet, Microphone, Poppy, and Box for the first set, here is every analysis on how far and how will these teams performed based on what I would envision in my eyes as idealistic (feel free to let know on how these teams would do based on what you think).
1) Circumspect: Off to a start between oldies and newbies. At first glance I thought to myself how I dislike this team because of how I don't care for these characters (like I really like Cheesy to be honest because he does have potential in my eyes), but that's just me overlooking this team as a whole because this has been only one episode where teams are organized, so my opinion on Circumspect will change as the series progresses until the merge eventually happens. Now, for character arcs and their sociologies.
Cammy might be either be spared or might stay a bit depending on how will they contribute on the team as their member, but honestly, what do I know about them. The only time they were entertaining, which I will for the life of me I would always unfathom, is how their whole MePhone4 sermon gimmick would play out if they wouldn't talk about too much and that it would make the team find it either random or frustrating to hear. But, it would very funny to assume that Cammy did save their lives eventually because they are cautious on what MePhone4 had done to many characters and that they are praised. That's all I can talk about Cammy because I will have no thoughts until they might do something remarkable in the series that can make their character a lot more entertaining, not just a MePhone4 devotee.
Next is Candle, now for her, she does have potential based on what she promised when she joined the new game. I'm honestly really intrigued on how Candle will be handled for her character not just a device of wisdom, but becoming an actual character outside her initial personality. Being that I might see her really close to reach the merge in around like 10 or 13 episodes in, makes me think if I really enjoy Candle as the season goes on. I will never know.
Then there's Pepper, also really interested to see how far her character can be handled as the season progresses. It will be breath-taking to see how well her journey of not being overly reliant to Salt just by knowing how she might find someone she can talk to, giving her advice on not to think about Salt, and how she will function well without Salt many times as always. But keep in mind, she has to face a mini-challenge of her own socially when she needs to become a fleshed-out character of her own, that obstacle she has to face, is Magnet.
Segue to the next character, it might be really compelling just how much this build-up will play out. I know Magnet is really annoying to most of the characters, and even most of the audience would also think of that too. But just by hearing how amazing her voice actress is, it would be really funny that she will eventually get eliminated because of how much she relies on Pepper the most. Her teammates might find it strange to notice that she relies on Pepper too much, to the point it might make one minute mistake that will make her team fumble. And I will also have to add in the same feeling when I was watching Disventure Camp 4: Carnival of Chaos, because of how her voice came from the character Ivy Berki. Imagine this, both of them will eventually start gaining trust issues because of one mistake they would make in particularly different reasons related to their respective mistake. It would be the thrill that Magnet does seem to become a good character on her own if she's not always around Pencil or Pepper, because like I said, her presence will serve as the doorway to Pepper's character development. And I would have to find out eventually.
And finally we have Cheesy, as stated in my parentheses, he might have some potential based on which direction his character should go. He is destined to break away his archetype as a comedian because he would suffer all day just to become a one-trick pony that many characters can make fun of, when in past episodes of Season 2, either his jokes don't land, or cause offensive insults to those around him. This might go down as one of the most fascinating character developments this season might ever pull of, because I really like Cheesy, although not my favorites to be honest.
Saving best for last as a bonus, there's Jack. As established, he is quite complicated to tolerated being Circumspect has him as a member, who would nothing but just gain a chance. Just like with Cheesy, he might have something notable that he will contribute to the show as he might rejoin. Jack would reflect on his past actions and that he won't always become such a jerk to everyone, right? Like really, how hard can it be to handle his character if it's handled well at the slightest. Moving on the red team.
2) Thematic Cats: Now I did say this team is pretty cool, mainly because it has my favorite character of all time. But I will have to save them as last on this one, so where to start?
Let's start with the friend group of the team, Microphone; Soap; and Taco. Let's look at them on their own before how they work together as a camaraderie in this team.
Soap is pretty okay for the most part, I really do think she will finally break away her character as such a perfectionist and is an enemy of filth and disgust at a certain place, specifically when it's literally contaminated. Hopefully, her temptation to become a housemaid would not play out as more of an exaggeration like in Season 2 back then. (Editor's Note: Yes, she does talk about that back in S2E9, however it switched back to her original archetype, which is right before she got eliminated, because last episode, she performed absolutely atrocious to her team while saving MePhone4, so that's for this note to say.)
Microphone is already awesome, she has pretty much a good relationship with Knife as a friend, she is determined to win a challenge for her team based on how well her confidence is, and how she can prove to herself that she isn't always Loud and Proud from what the show's website formerly labelled her as. She is such an amazing character, and that's why she has also an amazing best friend, Taco.
Before I will talk about Taco and Mic specifically, I do have words to say about Taco. We all know Taco's storyline, it does not need an introduction. But if anyone curious who doesn't know, she was originally a moron with little to no intelligence from her intial appearance until the latter of Season 2, whe she becomes a devious "villain" of what will become Season 2; however, it backfired because of how a former oldie of hers happens to call her out on her actions simply by telling her that she must face the music, otherwise confront a fellow old friend of hers she used as an advantage to win the million bucks. I really think that it will be a small yet fun interaction when Taco and Pickle would eventually reconcile outside of the game, or if any challenge would be about knowing your friends well from back then.
Anyways the friend group, because all I can say is Taco and Microphone would always be together no matter what. So much so it would be really dumb to notice how much their friendliness towards one another would hinder the game, and because Episode 3 of S4 keeps sprinkling the word "codependence." It's really strange that Soap would react to both of them being together always when there is three other characters who would work either a cross-team alliance, or as like a lone alliance if they aren't involved in their friend group. All in all, the Taco-Soap-Microphone friend group gimmick wouldn't be used much and that there are teammates out there who could need their help.
So now that I collectively talked about the first three, let's move on to Tea Kettle. The same thing Cheesy would ever struggle given his promise to find a way where he can be an endearing character not just for entertainment, Tea Kettle is on that same approach, but instead of tenderly care, she wants to be seen more as an iron fist with a ruthless attitude being that she calls herself "Tough Mama" as an instance of her becoming the brawn of the team. She is also still an enjoyable character when she has like other characters she started making friends with on her team. That's it for me to talk about; and since I mentioned brawns of this team, we have Teddy Bear.
Similar intials, similar number of words, but different motives, I guess. Teddy Bear is enjoyed a couple of fans in the show right when she was becoming a popular character in Season 1, and her reason to join Season 4 is already sad given that she lost her friend. She also cannot function when she is not always with Spikey, because he is one of the few characters she sees as a colleague she still has remaining now that Bell is dead forever. And now she is in a team full of veterans, all the while standing alone as the only amateur in this season to compete on. As a novice, she needs more moments where she can shine as a character, not just being regarded as someone heavily relying on game strategy for the most part.
Okay, I'm pretty sure there's only one character left on this team that I already saved the best for last, mainly because I said it before, and why this became my whole identity in the first place. So without further introduction, the icing on the cake, loaded with sprinkles, and with the CHERRY on top (pun intended), Cherries. Can I say how many positive things about them? Because at this point they might be the decider on how their role should play out since they lack a lot of development of Season 2. I already talked about how an awesome character they are in my perspective, and it still makes my patience tested to see how discarded their presence are since they are only used a background prop in Season 2, and that's it. I feel like if they ever compete alongside the other Thematic Cats, it's either they bring all in their optimism and enthusiasim to the team, or let be known if they play this for themselves while helping out their team. Cherries aren't exactly the kind of character to push aside apart from the jokes and tricks, but that's basically their input as a character, and I hope there is so much more to explore than them being total nuisances and being unreasonably angry over just a silly and pointless joke that would cause them a tantrum. I'm looking forward to my boy getting character development even if they are somewhat unimportant for the most part, because this should be the time they shine the spotlight. Someday, there's hope, but we'll have to see. On to the yellow team, because this is such a long paragraph to deal with.
3) Heavy Metal Pop Stars: I'm pretty unsure and also having the least amount of charity into this team because I find their members to not be my favorite mixture of characters, except for Lightbulb and Poppy because I find them really cool, and that most of the fans do adore them. But again, it is subject to change for my opinion on them as a team as the season progresses. So for now, let's start analyzing.
I will first choose Tapey, to talk about, because honestly, what does she do to make really find her character compelling? She is ought to be a strategic key player based on what she does and how her personality functions as a character. She more like Jade from Disventure Camp 4: Carnival of Chaos, in a sense that they rely solely on strategy and precision to advance further in the game; and another example I'm willing to put is Golf Ball from BFDI, mainly because of how well-interpreted their combined intelligence work. All that I could say is that Tapey would balance out more EQ than IQ, rather than being a Cabby 2.0. But here's the problem, I find Cabby's character already amazing, because of her development in the latter of Season 3, and I'm just like "could we really follow the same pattern for Tapey?" And my answer would have to be no, because it's complicated for me to see how much potential and how far Tapey is as a character, and how her contribution to HMPS would benefit her team as a whole. For now, she's only a ploy to provide information to her team, and nothing else. All of this would be changed if any notable character traits would open the doors for her, not just an intellect of some sort.
Up next is Paper, because while I do think his reason to join Season 4 is fair, I have no idea what would the writers do if he ever reaches thus far. Him being their for OJ is pretty sweet, but he has so much room for character moments to shine if he wants to live up the hype he would have for his fanbase in order to make his character compelling and charming. I do think he would only get a decent position at around the pre-merge like he could only last for like 6 or 8 episodes I guess, but I'm still unsure what he will do rather than just to compete in Season 1 and have beef with a literal kitchen knife from way back then.
Then there's Starfruit. So here's the thing for me when I think of Starfruit's character, I'm pretty sure if anything goes right and that the execution should be well-planned to make up all this build-up, then Starfruit might have something very interesting to display rather than being cursed as a celebrity to see more of how he does as a normal character. I know he is left to be desired mainly because not everyone likes him too much, but at least Lightbulb is with him, and she can help him get past his celebrity career as long as he doesn't try to make him look bad or something I don't know.
Speaking of Lightbulb, she is already iconic to many fans and I see now why her reputation of her time in both Seasons 1 and 2 make up for her lively presence as a character. It would be pretty interesting that she won't always be the most cheerful and enthusiastic, what with her still abiding by her original coding as a character, and all that is to say that she still makes comical and iconic moments, but how long will that last for her, and how long will she last on the competition, I will only see like 5 or 7 episodes if something consequential really happens to her, but of course, this show is so unpredictable for me to ponder that if I will get it right like most of the other thoughts I have with these characters. Talking about Lightbulb one more time before proceeding to the next character, she is in general entertaining and iconic, but as far as I'm aware, I'm pretty skeptical on how her character would do in this whole new environment for her to explore and discover, not just a damsel in distress given that she shatters herself in the past so many times.
Now that I finally talked about Tapey, Paper, Starfruit, and Lightbulb, let's talk about the last two characters. I will talk about MeTag first because I have more thoughts on them than Poppy. So MeTag only lasted for 2 episodes on the game, which on its own feels sad, but knowing how much they made it thus far, kind of left me confused, because what more will they do even after their elimination? I already made a prediction that MeTag would end up murdering Poppy based on their perspective, because they don't have a face and therefore they wouldn't show any sign of emotion other than body language, which needs to be explored so that they would have a second chance to join again. People say that MeTag would help Poppy rebuild MePad like he was before either for better or worse, but similarly to Test Tube's case, Poppy would not understand how does he work and how his personality was like back then in Season 2. Plus, it would have been a shame that his memories are completely destroyed because he got stabbed through the screen, where his memory chip or processor is at, and that led to his fatal death. It would be quite the sight to see if MeTag would ever have any character moments, where they can still try to make a good time on the competition. The question remains that if they are still a villain at some point because of what will they do to Poppy.
And while we're at the right topic, Poppy is the last one on my list. I'll say this briefly, but they have so many ways on choosing which role they can be as a character, either a protagonist or an antagonist, this also remains as an uncertainty for them. Say what you want about how Poppy really wants to stand out amongst the other characters, but lo and behold, nobody would ever character about them at the very slightest, only because they are pretty much a conflicting character on a lot of characters' perspectives. So now that we talked about a lot of yellow team, we are now in our homestretch, so let's move on to green team as the last, but not least.
4. Go Big or Be Last: This is what I will say as my second favorite team of the fourth season, since I pretty much like everyone on this team. Some of them are cool in their own ways and they all share a sense of family as such a feeling to it. However, I will be honest, the team is like a juxtaposition between relationships back and forth, and it would surely unlock most of their fullest potential at a 90%, worth of social effort and teamwork contributions, which is still great considering they have such amazing members in my opinion, but that depends if this team is stable enough to fly a plane with lots of control. Now that I talked about the team alone, let's analyze how their members would do as they cooperate.
Starting as our weakest member in terms of most of overall performance, we have Goo. Now, being that he joined Season 4 was only a bet that he wanted someone alongside Cherries and Cheesy to make an opportunity of their own to see if they ever became their truest selves; however, out of the three dragged along by Magnet without any intention whatsoever, Goo pretty much has the highest chance to fumble and be booted off early, if he doesn't make a mistake no matter how miniscule he has done. I do think Goo would take an active approach, where he acts all serious to better align with his teammates, given that they are trying to act normal, but stick by their programming as a character. There is like ways for Goo to prove his team that he isn't the most feeble because he doesn't do much what with him being limbless (despite having a slimy arm where he only raises his hand at some point in Season 3) and the most cowardly among his teammates, which again, puts him at risk to prove himself he can climb the ladder in this game. Until he has the right chance where he has some way to bounce back into the game, he really needs some assistance to provide to him, but I'll get into that later.
For now, the next character I'll have to chooose is Lifering. Sure, he has the courage and might to make it thus far into the game in contrast to Goo, but he sort of lacks intelligence when it comes to any particular scenario he is in to, like that one point in Season 3 that he made his team lose by getting himself stuck in quick sand in that season's premiere, or that one time he got himself ran over by a tour bus, because he wasn't moving away from the vehicle, when it was Clover who ran over him in the first place. All is to say that Lifering is confident, yet not enough to be competent on whichever case might seem. I do know for a fact that he still sticks by his roots of being a literal lifesaver based on his description, but that's really all for him to do, and he is stuck there, acting like he's the hero of a story book. If I am hopeful that he wouldn't be disregarded as a gimmick character just by being the leader of some sort because we never get to have anyone speaking on their own to their other members, or if Lifering is listening to one of his teammates. I really do think Lifering is not even close to become a heroic leader, if he were to understand his teammates' concerns or whatnot, as long as he handles the team with an iron fist and heart of gold, he can sure to become a good leader.
Next up on the list is Bonesaw, I still think he is awesome, but recently I have no idea why I lack interest in him in the first place, mainly because I still love his voice actor and his personality, but maybe that's just me feeling all demotivated and losing my hype. At this point, this season is currently 5 months old now, geez. Back to Bonesaw, for a fact that he is somewhat caring and helpful, make him still an endearing character despite what he appears given his characteristics when he was programmed. He is kind of like DJ from Total Drama Island, in a sense that he is mean and tough, but deep down, he is such a sweetheart that I can assume, like we all see that he isn't just a tough sheet of metal to cut fossil bones, which is literally what he is. Plus, Tea Kettle joins alongside him even if they are currently in opposing teams, which I wish we get to see more of their bond. So to conclude that Bonesaw isn't really what he is on the outside, but is for sure such a caring dude, with a passion to help others, even if he would be entirely bewildered on what they will say to him, with an obvious instance being Goo.
We're half way now to our next character, that I decided to choose is Spikey. Omitting the last name because its definition is pretty vulgar and that it's just a random word that came out of nowhere, Spikey is pretty hard to assume because how I imagine him just practically there, and not doing too much as some extent. I do get that him losing Teddy Bear is a severe loss since she was his colleague back then when they were stuck, all the while escaping with the others, and we all know Bell's tragic fate, so let's not iterate with that much detail. What's worse for Spikey is that without Teddy Bear's guidance, he can't do any basic task while doing challenges in the middle of the game, because he is too self-aware to mention that he has no limbs. We do however have his closest acquiantance in this team, that being Bonesaw. So I could imagine both of them working together and one of the making into the merge together upon doing so over the course of like half of the season, if they are really close to the merge. Since I can only see Bonesaw as a support system for Spikey, that will serve him as his gateway into the merge, whenever he needs him and others to help him out. That said, Spikey is like pretty difficult to assume if he has moments to shine in any episode he would be on.
We're nearly down to our last two characters, with both of them been in the game since each of the four previously mentioned characters didn't even debut yet (with Lifering, who already made a cameo before Season 3 was an actual thing back in the day). Now for this selection, I will have to choose, Trophy, because sure, I don't like him that much, but deep down that he has a lot of potential in this game. Think about it, he might be more confident than Lifering, but he is also ignorant as him, and in the past, he was also stubborn given his rivalry with Knife back in earlier episodes of Season 2. The show's crew are pretty much making the fans anticipate that Trophy could have a major role at some point in a future Season 4 episode, maybe he has the potential to reach like Final 10 or Final 8 whenever he has a stable relationship of any character he would interact eventually outside of his team. Truthfully so, he might become an actually great character if he has build-up to suspend for him to develop. Needless to say, even if he is not my favorite character, he is surely an awesome character to enjoy whenever he has the best time to shine at whatever plot point may be. Overall, he is still adored by many fans that there is hope for him to shine where his other teammates don't excel at. Again, this is the Trophy section, so let's end things of with our last character.
And so, our last character has arrived, much newer to the others similarly to most of the other Season 4 newbies. One who truly is treated like a literal outcast, whose entire fate ended up being a laughing stock for the worse for her, and now this is her one chance that she can finally learn and discover new things around her. Everyone, this last character is indeed, Box. How do I talk about Box, is the question I really thought to myself on how she will advance further in the game, because for a while we would not have any better knowledge to invent if we need to analyze how well Box could go based on how much time she has on this season, and how she might have a good chance to advance further into the game. Buckle up, I have quite a lot of words to say about her. First of all, her whole gimmick of saying "I am dead for so long, how should I know?" It can be used much seldom if it isn't always the case, because she will say all over again until the audience would say "OKAY! WE GOT YOUR WHOLE STORY! NOW BE QUIET!" Sorry if this rude, but truthfully, I really want Box to prove to herself that she isn't a literal dead weight to her team because, you know, she lacks experience at a lot of things, but I do also happen to have an interesting comparison with her to another character, which I chose Goo for instance. Box is more courageous, but she will always have to complain that she doesn't do this or that because her straightforward explanations. Meanwhile Goo, even if he is a coward, he was only capable enough to guess everyone's word correctly, including all the newbies of Season 4 that came along, back in S4E2. Now, in a similar case to Poppy, Box has like many opportunities to shine on if she is truly going to have the best moments to live up to. With Lifering being unaware and knowing only his guts and glory, Box should have taken like an assistable approach to her team, and lo and behold, I really want her to be like some sort of motherly figure to all of her teammates, mainly because it will serve her as a lesson of managing relationships with other characters ever since being trapped in MeAfterlife for more than a decade. Remember that I mentioned about Goo needing to provide assistance because he doesn't really blend well with his other teammates, well I really want Box to become such an awesome character if like one instance that she truly cares about this team, as more like a family of some sort. Her leadership skills will also provide a beneficial part of her character, given that Suitcase assigned her as a safety guard uner her control. Finally, for the Box being a motherly figure concept, there will be like challenges for her in order to make sure her team doesn't falter at whatever consequence might come in their way, but as they say, everyone learns from their mistakes. So as long as Lifering is solely on about guts and glory like a military chief would do, Box could work best either a support character towards both her teammates and other characters, or give her traits that will support being not just rational and level-headed, but as a great example of how much development it takes for an unexperienced character to go thus far. That said, I wish her character might turn out to work and feel a lot well like the other characters do. It may be a long analysis for her, but for someone a lot unexperienced, this is what I already said about her, so now, this wraps up every character analysis for every member as of Season 4 Episode 3.
So with that, those are all of my thoughts and how I would predict that each of these characters could do, as I really think most of them have potential, while others would not have a good chance to reach thus far. I'm so optimistic on this idea because that is so many words and plenty of characters that I have made for this exact post. So please let me know if you think about this post as something to learn from or with some appreciation, which could be nice to have. Anyhow, anywho, this has been another Wikia Discussion exclusive post, Have a fun and lovely day II wiki, Toodles!
(Also side note: my tests are coming in the next two days, because time is accelerating way too fast for me to get a decent grade this feasible to whichever approach benefits me. Anyways, Bye!)
