Betrayal is inevitable. The clock is ticking. Tick, tock, tick, tock...
Mecintosh, labeled The Relic, is a minor but pivotal character who appeared in "Theft and Battery". He is an old, outdated Meeple computer created by Steve Cobs back in the 1980's who seems to reside in Meeple Headquarters. He was voiced by Geoff Goldfeder.
Appearance[]
Mecintosh is an old white and gray boxy computer. His black screen displays a green pictorial face, similar to how an old computer displayed green text in the MS-DOS interface. He also appears with a floppy disk slot, as well as a classic rainbow Meeple logo.
Coverage[]
in Theft and Battery, Mecintosh appeared inside Meeple Care, a room inside Meeple Headquarters, suddenly showing up on a patient bed as Suitcase attempts to steal the MePhone4 Battery. At first, he startles her but allows her to take the battery before reminding her that she's stealing. As Suitcase begins to leave, Mecintosh tells her friends "only care about [her] when there's something [she] can give to them." Suitcase is stunned, and he continues, telling her "betrayal is inevitable" and "the clock is ticking", promptly chanting "tick-tock, tick-tock" over and over until the shot changes to Steve Cobs, who happens to continue the "tick-tock".
He appears in the episode "Mine Your Own Business" in one of MePhone4's memories. He gives a skeptical look towards MePhone as he approaches MePhone3GS.
In "The Reality of the Situation", Mecintosh's body can be seen inside of the same closet when Suitcase and Knife go to investigate.
Trivia[]
- Mecintosh is, of course, based on the original Apple Macintosh 128K.
- Mecintosh's name is revealed in the credits, as well as in the Theft and Battery Livestream.
- It is also revealed that Mecintosh's name is pronounced "MEE-kin-tosh".
- Along with Spikey Mervert, 8-Ball, Box and Toilet, Mecintosh is the fifth limbless character seen on Inanimate Insanity.
- Mecintosh is the first character with a completely unique face, as his eyes, mouth, and eyebrows are pictorially generated on his screen.
- The second being MePhone3GS.
- Interestingly, both are Meeple products seen in a storage room in one of Mephone4's memories in "Mine Your Own Business".
- Mecintosh's face being digitally displayed on the screen may be a reference to the Happy/Sad Mac icons on the startup sequences for older Macintosh Computers.
- Mecintosh can be heard in Suitcase's hallucinations in "Kick the Bucket".
- Mecintosh was seen in one of MePhone4's memories in an abandoned room, along with a broken MePhone3GS. This may imply that Steve Cobs trashed him after he became old.
