History[]
Pre-I.I. (2011)[]
The channel was formed on February 22, 2011, just two days after The Stupid Trailer was released on the DuncanEpic channel, which came out before the channel was formed. Auditions for Inanimate Insanity were released on the date the channel formed. The Coin Bros. was then produced as Adam’s school project with Brian, but was never publicly released until 2016 in the Adamationz channel. Therefore, Season 1 began production.
Creation of I.I. (2011-2014)[]
On April 1, 2011, Adam uploaded the first episode of Inanimate Insanity. Sometime after that, The Taco Show was then released as the spin-off to that show. Episode 6 was supposed to be released on September 1, 2011, but was delayed to October 1, 2011 due to the series being planned to have recommended characters to join the show for a 5½th episode. Adam’s second school project was Nickel’s Tips On Conserving Water. Before September 13, 2011, Nate Groth deleted the first 5½ episodes, along with the school project. The first 5½ episodes were eventually brought back a day on September 14, 2011, and Nate was fired from the crew as a result, leading to Balloon having reused lines throughout the season. From June to August 2012, Adam and Taylor went to a summer program where they traveled around the United States, but Adam has done lines for Nickel in Battle for Dream Island Again’s first three episodes before the program started.
Adam went back from the summer hiatus in late August 2012, so Season 1 could wrap up before 2013. The video "Nickel's Tips On Conserving Water" was re-uploaded to YouTube in late 2012. Initially, 18 episodes were planned for Season 1, but the eighteenth one was delayed to December 8, 2012, but was released one day earlier. Therefore, Season 1 has finished. The second episode of The Taco Show was also released.
The second season, called Inanimate Insanity II, was released on YouTube on April 2, 2013. As of that season, each episode has thousands of votes. Initially, that season also had more crew members. Nate Groth was briefly brought back to voice Balloon again until Episode 6 (Let 'Er R.I.P.), before his role was ultimately replaced by Ben Cross. Another summer hiatus was announced in the third episode. The fourth episode was planned to release on September 2, 2013, but was shortened a week earlier.
The Continuity of Inanimate Insanity II (2014-2020)[]
Season 2 continued its running from 2014 to 2020. By 2016, AnimationEpic began to hire more crew members. Additionally, AnimationEpic started to make animatics for the II2 episodes. The Coin Bros. was publicly released on the Adamationz channel, and in 2017, the short Treasure Time was released on YouTube.
As of 2020, the season had fourteen episodes. Season 2 was planned to have sixteen episodes and was going to finish by then, but the season stopped for a four-year long hiatus after fourteen episodes. AnimationEpic also had a Patreon account briefly, but was dismantled sometime after 2021. On the Inanimate Insanity website, a web comic series called Inanimate Comics was released with only six comics. Additionally, dubs were released on YouTube.
The present (2021-present)[]
In 2021, Inanimate Insanity celebrated its 10th anniversary. Shortly after, a third season called Inanimate Insanity Invitational was released on April 3, 2021. Exit interviews were also released for different people interview eliminated contestants from Season 3. Initially, the episodes of The Taco Show became private videos.
On August 2022, Taylor, LorenTzel, and Ame were fired from the show due to defending Loren’s racist actions, and misheard the name Geno. It was announced on a Twitter post. Therefore, Taylor’s role as Paintbrush, OJ, and Bot were replaced with Jazzy Oliver, Patrick Mealey and Shooshies respectively. OJ was only affected for the final two episodes of Season 3, where he never spoke.
After Season 3 concluded after nineteen episodes on March 3, 2024, the fifteenth episode for Season 2 started production. It was screened early for a tour with the BFDI crew, as stated in Season 2 is Back! from June 28, 2024 to August 4, 2024. The episode was released on August 10, 2024. The finale of Season 2, called Inanimate Insanity II: The Movie, had its first act released on September 7, 2024. On October 12th, 2024, The continuation of the Season 2 finale was released as Act 2 for Inanimate Insanity II: The Movie.
It is currently unknown what the channel will do next after Season 2 is concluded.
