The Animation Machine is a machine originally owned by Zoetrope. The Animation Machine has the ability to create animations within seconds, requiring a script, artwork, and money to create it. The machine was used as the basis of the challenge in "Title TBD". It reappeared in "The Show Must Go On", and later got destroyed by Silver Spoon.

The Animation Machine reappears in "A Jury of Your Fears", alongside Zoetrope.

Appearance[]

The Animation Machine is a large gray machine, with multiple large gears inside. It has has two large yellow flashing lights on the top, and more colored lights on the machine itself. There is a large chute on the side of the machine, where people could enter the required materials in order to create their animation. It also has a large cord attached to it, letting it plug into a TV.

In The Series[]

In "Title TBD", the Animation Machine is first introduced by Zoetrope, who MePhone considers an "industry pro". Zoetrope explains that to make a cartoon all you need to do is drop your script and art into the machine, as well as some money to make it work. After both teams finish assembling their scripts, art and budget, MePhone and Zoetrope tell the contestants to deposit their things into the machine. The Pinkers displays "The Artistic Kick", which Zoetrope enjoyed due to it capturing the idea that life was "just fleeting", due to its length. Silver and Paintbrush get upset due to a large chunk of their script not making it on-screen. The Thinkers deposit their money and script, which starts to overload their machine due to the amount of paper. They display "Title TBD", a film that bores most of the contestants. After 2 hours, Yin-Yang shatters the TV that the Animation Machine was connected to, with them also being up for elimination.

In "The Show Must Go On", the Animation Machine is brought up by Walkie-Talkie, as a suggestion to finish enough episodes in time to get the Groscer nomination. Walkie adds that she had loaded past episodes into the machine to give it something to work with. Cabby gets upset with MePhone for wanting to use the machine, putting quantity over quality. Cabby, alongside Nickel and Balloon leave the Writer's Room in protest, with the group being worried that they could be replaced by the machine. Silver gives MePhone and Walkie ideas for his own special episode, dubbing it "Dead On Target". Walkie convinces MePhone to go through with using it after saying II could run forever with this pipeline. He deposits the ideas into the Machine, displaying "dART chal;enge", which ends up being very crude to what he imagined. Walkie tries to convince him to keep using it, but he decides against it. MePhone tells Silver to destroy the machine with his "new powers", leading it to get destroyed.

In "A Jury of Your Fears", a possibly second Animation Machine appears alongside Zoetrope, when Walkie exclaims that they had the technology to run the show without MePhone.

"The Artistic Kick"

The film starts with two characters, a karate master and a ninja, standing on a grassland. The karate master prepares a kick while shouting "KARATE!" shortly before the video ends. Paintbrush and Silver Spoon are shocked by how little of their script made it onscreen, due to their very small budget.

The film starts with a Knight, standing in what looks like a garden. Next to him is a fountain with a toaster on it, labeled "TBD". The knight presents many analogies in honor of TBD. After 2 hours, Yin-Yang snaps and smashes the TV with a bicycle.

"dART chal;enge": (Written by Silver Spoon)

"dArt chal;enge"

The film starts with a very poorly drawn Cabby holding a file, which exclaims "throw dart", which she does. Poorly drawn Nickel and Balloon argue, telling each other they were never friends. Nickel walks away and gets hit by Cabby's dart, causing him to scream and die on the ground. Cabby exclaims that "this not in file, but is in life" and wonders what to do. Silver appears, calling himself "the best one" before letting out raspberries.

Trivia[]

  • The Knight and the Karate master were portrayed by Adam Katz and Taylor Grodin respectively, both being the writers of the episode.
