This article has a description about the show segment called "Elimination Time". You may be looking for the song. |
Elimination Time is an elimination ceremony featured in all seasons of Inanimate Insanity.
Description[]
The Elimination Time ceremony takes place in almost every episode of the series, varying from the beginning of an episode to the very end. A contestant is removed from the competition, often occurring after they are voted for by the other members of their team, merged contestants, or viewers of the series.
Before the ceremony takes place, the losing team or each individual will be placed up for elimination by the host. Votes will then be collected either through contestant voting or viewer voting. The contestant who receives the most votes will leave the show and be sent to a holding area. These range from Idiotic Island in Inanimate Insanity, Hotel OJ in Inanimate Insanity II, inside Black Hole in Inanimate Insanity Infinity, or Indefinite Island in Inanimate Insanity Invitational.
While the event would normally begin with a song, also called "Elimination Time!", the song was discontinued, occasionally returning as a joke.
Contestant Voting[]
First used in "A Lemony Lesson", contestant voting is when the members of the team or remaining individual contestants vote which contestant of the team they want to leave, mostly due to causing failure of a challenge, or strained relationships. Characters will be voted out based on the other members themselves. Votes cast by contestants are often read in a random order.
In Inanimate Insanity, contestants may cast their votes in private, later counted aloud by MePhone4, or by unceremoniously announcing who they want to be eliminated. Occasionally, a screen counts the votes by displaying the respective character icons. In "Inanimate Smackdown", a voting box was introduced where the contestants recorded their votes inside a tiny booth, but the booth proved to be too small in "The Penultimate Poll" for certain contestants to fit in.
Contestant voting was temporarily discontinued following the introduction of viewer voting in "One-Shot Wonder", but was brought back on occasion in later episodes of Inanimate Insanity.
In Inanimate Insanity II, contestant voting was permanently brought back and established as of "Kick the Bucket", revamped with an official electronic system for contestants to cast their vote in private. Instead of a screen displaying the votes, MePad does instead.
In Inanimate Insanity Invitational, contestant voting is the staple elimination method amongst players, while viewers vote vote who is immune initially until Viewer Voting was removed later into the season.
Viewer Voting[]
Introduced at the end of "One-Shot Wonder", and continued in further episodes, viewer voting is based on votes from the viewers of Inanimate Insanity. Fans must type in a comment for which character they want to be eliminated. Votes casted by viewers are collected and then read in ascending order, leading up to the highest voted contestant who is eliminated.
Viewer elimination is the most unpredictable, while contestant elimination can be predicted based upon whom each character seems to dislike. Yet, viewer elimination can be predicted if a fan counts an unofficial count of the votes in the comment section, though it will not necessarily be right. Very often, in fact, inaccurate tallies will be posted, some of which were close but incorrect, and others that are far off and seemingly completely made up to fool other viewers. Fake voters have previously been identified, resulting in their votes being removed from the tally, although this is never mentioned in the actual series itself. Misspelled votes also at one point were not counted, but now are.
In Inanimate Insanity II, as of "Breaking the Ice", viewer voting was no longer regulated by the comment section, but instead by polls on InanimateInsanity.com and later by Google polls. The polls made it so no viewers could see the votes until the next episode's release. Viewer voting was altered at the end of "Mazed and Confused" by no longer allowing viewers to vote for contestants, but rather, choose the contest for the next episode. As of "Mine Your Own Business", viewer voting is discontinued for the season.
In Inanimate Insanity Invitational, viewer voting makes a return but is altered to instead allow viewers to vote for which contestant they would like to grant immunity, while contestants vote for who is eliminated. Viewers are allowed to vote for one contestant on each team, allowing them to vote two or three times depending on how many teams there are. The contestant who receives the most votes is then immune from being eliminated, even if contestants cast votes against them. During the beginning of the merge, a contestant could win immunity while another could be voted by viewers to win immunity. However, the voting was announced to be removed after Home Is Where the Heart Is, Meaning only contestants could now vote and that viewers could no longer vote who to receive immunity on the Inanimate Insanity website.
