Inanimate Insanity IV, also known as Inanimate Insanity 4, and abbreviated as II4 or II IV, is the fourth season of Inanimate Insanity. It premiered during the BFDI x II 2025 Tour, with its first episode being shown live on several dates ranging from June 27 to July 13, 2025, before being released on YouTube a day after the final live showing.[1][2]
Overview[]
This season primarily focuses on the contestants' lives following the finale of Inanimate Insanity II while also retaining the competition-based format seen in the previous seasons. Similar to Inanimate Insanity Invitational, this season also utilizes a new animation style, this time reminiscent of Season 1R, while also taking cues from Seasons 2 and 3.
Pre-Release Information[]
Before Season 4 was announced, series creator Adam Katz confirmed that Season 2 would not be "the last you'll see of these characters" at the Inanimate Insanity II: The Movie Laemmle Glendale showing's Q&A panel on November 26, 2024.[3] A tweet posted by the Inanimate Insanity account on December 31, 2024 added to this, with further content confirmed for 2025.[4]
In the announcement post of Inanimate Insanity: Season 1 Remastered on March 1, 2025, the fourth season, then referred to as the "official continuation" of the show, was announced to be coming in summer 2025.[5] Adam said in the credits of "The Crappy Cliff (Remastered)" that the crew wanted to make it clear that the remaster was not the continuation.
Season 4 was officially confirmed in the video "Inanimate Insanity SEASON 4!?" on April 4, 2025, revealing it will be premiering at the BFDI x Inanimate Insanity 2025 Tour on dates ranging from June 27 to July 13, 2025, and the second episode will be premiering in the tour on dates from July 19 to August 3, 2025. The first episode was released on YouTube on July 14, 2025, and the second episode at August 4, 2025.
On April 14, 2025, AnimationEpic posted a Google Form named "Inanimate Insanity - Call to Action!" for applications for props and backgrounds design, storyboards, and animation for both Season 1 Remastered and Season 4 (except storyboards were Season 4-exclusive). The props and backgrounds design section mentioned there will be two distinct art directions present for both seasons of the show. Props from "Objects in Mirror" and a background from "Inanimate Insanity SEASON 4!?" were used as an example of the style of Season 4. The animation section was looking for animators proficient in Adobe Animate, with those who could match the follow-through, smooth style of the upcoming Season 4 (mentioning it will be similar to the Inanimate Insanity II standard). The animation section also referred to the season as "Inanimate Insanity 4", using a standard number 4 as opposed to its Roman numeral equivalent.
On April 26, 2025, during the "Back to the Beginning! | Inanimate Insanity" stream, Adam and Brian confirmed a few things about the upcoming season, including the overall premise and the different animation style.[citation needed]

Rejoin Scoreboard[]
A new mechanic introduced in the season is the Rejoin Scoreboard. As explained in "Cob Mentality", eliminated contestants are allowed to choose one team to assist in the challenge, and if said team places first, all eliminated contestants on the team gain a point. If an eliminated contestant gains 5 points at any point in the game, they automatically rejoin.

Trivia[]
- As of this season, Adam Katz and Brian Koch are now the only voice actors to have voiced in every season.
- The first episode of the season features a song, suggesting that it may retain Inanimate Insanity II's musical elements.
- This season continues the trend of having a debuting contestant be the first one eliminated.
- This season is the first to….
- …break the pattern of premiering on the same day of April as its season's number (excluding Season 1's remaster). It instead premiered on June 27, though the announcement of the season was on April 4.
- …not have the contestants immediately form teams at the beginning of the competition.
- …not have MePhone4 as the host. Instead, Fan hosts this season alongside the co-hosts, Test Tube and Bot. This is also the first season where a contestant is the host.
- …not have an intro sequence, though it is likely that there will be a challenge about one in a future episode.[13]
- …not feature Nickel, Balloon or Paintbrush as contestants.
- …premiere at a meetup, and the first to premiere in a theater instead of premiering on YouTube.
- Unlike previous seasons, the episodes of Inanimate Insanity IV are designed to segue into one another, meaning that each episode picks up directly where the previous one left off. For example, "The Future Is Today!" ends with Poppy's introduction, and the following episode, "Cob Mentality", begins with the same scene.
