The MeLife App was an app on MePhone4 that created people, objects, and structures. It could recover characters it created. The app was first displayed in "Breaking The Ice", although it had been used throughout the whole series. Some characters generated by MeLife cannot be recovered.

In "Objects in Mirror", MePhone4's MeLife app lost all of its ability due to the Shimmer egg powering the app being removed from his system.

In The Series[]

MeLife was first showcased by MePhone4 in "Breaking The Ice" by downloading and regenerating previously shattered OJ. When a character's icon is selected, a silhouette of their main color appears, and then downloads the contestant from bottom to top. The MeLife recovery app has presumably been used to recreate every dead contestant after they disappeared.

Faults[]

Bow and Dough are the only two contestants who cannot be recovered by MeLife. As explained by MePhone4 in "A Kick in the Right Direction", Bow cannot be recovered since she died while MePhone4 was dead as well, not allowing a notification to pass through, and thus, her recovery is faulted. Even when attempted to recover, Bow's silhouette will partially download, but then reverse and turn to static. As a result, Bow's soul resides as a ghost in Purgatory Mansion, as shown in "Let 'Er R.I.P.". Dough cannot be recovered after Yin-Yang ate him as MePhone4 didn't get a chance to create a MeLife icon for him. His soul also resides as a ghost in Purgatory Mansion, also as shown in "Let 'Er R.I.P.".

Bow's recovery-block has been further explained by the show crew, in stating: "at the end of season one, Bow's recovery alert went to the MePhone device that was destroyed. The new body for MePhone did not receive a proper notification and the connection was severed. She died when MePhone was dead, and that physical MePhone never came back."

As seen in "Out of Body Experience", if MePhone4 attempts to recover too many contestants at once, their consciousnesses and bodies can accidentally be incorrectly swapped with others being recovered at the same time. This glitch does not happen every single time, however, as in "Objects in Mirror" MePhone recovered all of the contestants at once, and their consciousnesses were all in the correct bodies.

In "The Reality of the Situation", contestants deleted by MePhoneX could not be recovered, as their MeLife icons were deleted alongside them. Later in the episode, it's revealed that the MeLife support is being removed for older devices.

Back during "Theft and Battery", Toilet found a wire at Meeple Headquarters that was initially labeled "PH3NOM53 VK0cH". This wire was placed inside MePhone4 when he was repaired later on in the same episode. The wire seemed to serve no purpose whatsoever until "Through No Choice of Your Own", where Steve Cobs mentioned the "Phenomse", which implied that this wire was made with Light Shimmer energy. He described how the wire allowed him to hijack MeLife and manipulate its functionality. After Toilet unplugged Me from the wire, every object, character, and landmark that was generated by MePhone4's MeLife was deleted.

In "Objects in Mirror", it's revealed that the light from an old Baby Shimmer egg Cobs stole years ago was what had been powering the MeLife software throughout the entire show. The light is taken out when everyone escapes MeAfterlife and is given back to the Shimmers, thus discontinuing the ability for contestants to regenerate after death and MeLife as a whole.

Those Unable to be Recovered[]

  • Bow - As MePhone4 didn't receive a notification that she was dead due to him dying consecutive to her, she couldn't be recovered. When she attempted the red line game, her legs were caught, causing her to become a ghost rather than getting revived.
  • Dough - Dough was eaten by Yin-Yang before MePhone4 was able to create a MeLife icon for him, rendering him completely irrecoverable. When he attempted the red line game, his legs were caught, causing him to become a ghost rather than getting revived.
  • Box - Box died before her icon was added to MeLife. She had an icon added to MeLife after her death, however when used, a “revived” Box came out as inanimate. As of "Objects in Mirror", however, this is no longer true, as Box beat the red line game, allowing her to be revived as a living object.
  • Pickle, OJ, Nickel, Soap, Test Tube, Tissues, Yin-Yang, Fan, Lightbulb, Balloon, Baseball, Bomb, Candle, Silver Spoon, Cabby, Trophy, Goo, Cheesy, Salt, Pepper, Starfruit, and Cherries - MePhone4 is not able to recover them, since they were killed by MePhoneX and their icons were removed from MeLife. In "Objects in Mirror", however, this was reversed when the contestants completed the red line game, allowing them to be mass recovered.
  • Bot - Since Bot is a robot created by Test Tube and Fan rather than being generated by MePhone4, they are not connected to MeLife and therefore cannot be recovered by the app.
  • Dictionary, Poptart, Banana, and Cookie - Their legs were caught in red line game, causing them to become a ghost rather than getting revived.
  • Knife - Sacrificed himself to save Marshmallow, causing his legs to get caught by the red line, thus turning him into a ghost.
  • Everyone else - As of Objects in Mirror, the egg used to control MeLife and help recover contestants was given back to the Light Shimmers, therefore revoking MePhone4's powers to generate and revive things with the app. If a contestant were to die, they wouldn't be able to be recovered. However, it could be averted in future.

Trivia[]

  • The app has had multiple design changes throughout the series.
    • In Breaking the Ice, it just shows square portraits of the contestants on a 5x3 grid.
    • In A Kick in the Right Direction, it shows round icons with blue borders for the contestants on a 4x3 grid. There is now text at the top saying "MeLife™" and arrows on the sides implying that there are multiple pages.
    • In Hatching the Plan, the icons are now colored silhouettes of the contestants' bodies. The background is now darker and the arrows on the sides have been removed as this interface seems to allow you to scroll rather than switch pages.
    • In Truth or Flare, the background of the app is now white. Additionally, the icons now have gradients.
    • In Objects in Mirror, MeLife is shown to have an extended view in MeAfterlife, with icons of contestants whose icons were previously unseen.
