"Pesty Besties" is the 11th episode of Inanimate Insanity Invitational and the 43rd episode overall. It was released on December 10, 2022.
Synopsis[]
The island has been INVADED!!… By adorable little monsters. And MePhone will NOT stand for it! As pest-control, the contestants are assigned a pet to train and send into the INANI-MATE ARENA! With contestants now having to battle for themselves, victory is more important then ever… especially as foreboding visions of betrayal loom…
Plot[]
Pre-Intro[]
The episode starts off with Bot, Nickel, and Balloon inside the Jail Cell coming up with alliance theme songs. Bot presents theirs, which Balloon is intrigued by. Nickel presents his, which ends up being a high pitched yell. Balloon calls it "incredible" and takes them both into consideration. Nickel asks Balloon for any updates of growing their alliance, with him saying that Paintbrush said "maybe one day". The three of them ecstatically do their "Looney Balloonies" cheer.
At the Volcano, Candle's Inner-Flame senses that there would soon be a betrayal. Candle stands bewildered before a creature runs into her, causing her to scream. MePhone4's scream is also heard in the distance.
Post-Intro[]
All of the contestants gather near MePhone to see a bunch of Inani-Mates eating part of an old Mile High Pie. Bot calls them "adorable" but MePhone says they had ruined his half-birthday party and had eaten his pie. Cabby points out that the ice cream was rotten and several challenges old at that point, but MePhone says that isn't important. MePhone then says it would only be fair if the creatures battled to the death, and announces the next challenge.
Challenge[]
MePhone says that each contestant will be given an Inani-Mate to train for battle. After that, the Inani-Mates will battle in a tournament, with the winner receiving the Immunity Cookie.
The Floor tells the others that the Inani-Mates are all super strong and have their own powers. Silver Spoon tries to get the biggest one but MePhone says he would be assigning them himself. Silver is given the ugly one, which he hesitantly hopes has a good personality.
In a Confessional, Candle says she doesn't know who will be the betrayer or who would be betrayed, but she has to change the course of fate. Paintbrush tells Candle they don't know to help their Inani-Mate "Diamond Crusher". She tells them she can held guide their alliance before Cabby buts in telling everyone to take a folder. Cabby rants about how Test Tube says she "scared people" and decides to try to make friends with her folders. She asks Montgomery if he's excited, with him responding with "pew-pew". Candle realizes she isn't needed and walks away, which startles Cabby.
Silver goes to Yin-Yang and attempts to trade Inani-Mates with him, but is told to scram. Yang tells his Inani-Mate "Sprinkles" that their first lesson is an armed robbery before Yin asks if he could have control for the challenge. Over at the Looney Balloonies, Balloon comes with their Inani-Mate. Nickel introduces his as "Nickel Jr.", saying they were definitely paired because of the muscle. Bot introduces N/A, calling them their "little guy". N/A repeats what Bot says and Bot extends their legs to contradict them. Balloon introduces "Quacky" and brings up that they should train one of their pets together to garuntee immunity. They all decide on Quacky, which makes Nickel Jr. sad.
Candle walks over to Yin and Sprinkles to check on them, before walking away again. Yin tries to talk Sprinkles out of eating sweets and gives them Riggity Rex to distract him. The Floor asks his Inani-Mate what he should name them. The Inani-Mate tells him that they are much more powerful than him and that he should be fearing him. The Floor decides on "Tootsy Wootsy". Cabby rolls over to The Floor and he compliments her on her folders and she asks if they are friends. The Floor nervously looks away which upsets her.
Yin walks over to find out that Sprinkles had ripped up Riggity Rex. He lashes out at Sprinkles and they leave. Yin regrets his decision and cries out for them. Candle walks over to their Inani-Mate "Flamina" before Silver shows up and offers his Inani-Mate, "Utter Filth" to her. Candle asks if hr had been training at all and Silver said he wants them gone. She tells him to keep it together. Cabby runs into Yin and he tells her what happened. Cabby offers to give Yin Montgomery, telling him they would be unstoppable. Yin gladly accepts and says Cabby is really nice.
MePhone presses an alarm and tells the contestants that training time is up. Balloon and Bot worriedly tell MePhone their pets went missing, pointing to piles of confetti. MePhone says they are disqualified. Yin tells him he got a new one, but Cabby adds on that she had given her up. MePhone starts the Inani-Mate Smackdown: the remaining 6 Inani-Mates would battle to the death.
ROUND 1: Diamond Crusher vs. Nickel Jr.[]
MePhone questions their naming criteria. Paintbrush compliments their Inani-Mate before they go into battle. Nickel Jr. touches Diamond Crusher, making them explode into confetti. All of the other contestants watch in horror. Tootsy Wootsy goes up to Paintbrush telling them "this is what their competition had led to". The Floor asks if it hurt, but Tootsy Wootsy says they enjoy "confettiing". MePhone is excited by this and tells them to keep it going.
ROUND 2: Utter Filth vs. Sprinkles 2[]
Yang questions the name Sprinkles 2 was given and Yin lies saying it was a "magical transformation". Sprinkles 2 touches Utter Filth causing them to explode. Silver gets on his knees in misery as Candle reminds him this is what he wanted. Silver starts whimpering.
ROUND 3: Flamina vs. Tootsy Wootsy[]
Tootsy Wootsy tries to talk Flamina out of the fighting. Flamina, however, flies straight into Tootsy's nose, making her explode. Tootsy apologies, and The Floor compliments him on the reverse psychology.
MePhone announces that that is the end of the initial rounds. On the sidelines, Nickel walks up to Silver. Nickel tells him that his alliance is in need of a leader. Silver looks intrigued. MePhone says that Nickel Jr. will get into the Finals due to beating his opponent in the least amount of time.
SEMI-FINAL: Sprinkles 2 vs. Tootsy Wootsy[]
Tootsy pleads to Sprinkles 2 telling him he cant take another life. Sprinkles 2 runs into him anyways, causing him to start crying. The Floor tells him he's gonna get him an apple juice. Yin mourns over Sprinkles leaving again before Yang asks what he meant by "again". Yin tells Yang he lied to him about the transformation and that Sprinkles had ran away. Yin tells him he's happy for their balance.
FINAL ROUND: Nickel Jr. vs. Tootsy Wootsy[]
Tootsy makes his final plead, telling Nickel Jr. that they could turn against their masters. Nickel Jr. growls at him instead.
Tootsy shoots stars at Nickel Jr., which he narrowly dodges. Nickel Jr. then flies at Tootsy which he avoids. Nickel Jr. turns his head upside down, and impales Tootsy with his head spike. Tootsy says his "convictions will live on" before he explodes.
As Nickel praises Nickel Jr. for helping him win. Balloon then points out that all that was left after N/A and Quacky vanished was confetti. Nickel, realizing what Nickel Jr. had done, starts scolding him. Nickel Jr. tells him he wanted him to be proud, before self-imploding. MePhone gives Nickel the Immunity Cookie, and says its time to prepare for the vote.
Pre-Elimination[]
Later in the jail cell, the Looney Balloonies are discussing team colors when Silver walks in. Nickel tries to convince the others to let him in. Bot agrees, but Balloon isn't the biggest fan of it. Cabby tells her alliance that someone else should pick who to vote out. Yin-Yang says they should vote Nickel. Cabby tells Yin-Yang that Nickel already had immunity. Unpleased, Candle walks away. Silver tells his new alliance they could try to get The Floor in before Candle calls him over. Candle asks him if he's trying to vote her out again. Silver lies telling her that he was gathering intel, additionally telling her that her alliance has outgrown her. Candle angrily tells him that if he slips she would do something, before trailing off, leading Silver to ask in response.
Elimination[]
MePhone greets the Final 9 before reading the immunity vote, being given to Yin-Yang for the 5th time. Balloon receives 4 votes with The Floor receiving 3. Nickel assured Balloon that he would be safe, before a 4th vote for The Floor is called. This shocks The Thinkers, with Paintbrush asking Candle if someone had flipped. The Floor is the 11th contestant eliminated. Paintbrush, shocked, immediately goes at Silver, saying they should not have trusted him. Candle, however, tells them that they don't need her anymore, and that she had joined Silver's alliance. Cabby comforts her remaining 2 allies, reminding them of their slogan. Paintbrush, looking sad, agrees.
MePhone tries hitting The Floor multiple times with the Fist Thingy, getting very afraid to see it isn't working, before the episode ends.

Production Notes[]
Continuity References[]
- Inani-Mate Smackdown refers to the challenge and episode of a very similar name in Season 1. The challenge had six players like the original, as well as a finalist determined by how fast they beat their competitor.
Cultural References[]
- The Inani-Mates can be seen as a parody of Pokémon due to how they train with their trainers and fight other Inani-Mates in battle.
Trivia[]
- This was the final episode of Inanimate Insanity Invitational to allow viewers to vote for immunity, due to voted immunity getting removed in the following episode.
- In the original elimination order for the season discussed by the team, Candle was originally planned to be the contestant eliminated in this episode. She was however pushed up to being the 13th contestant eliminated to give her relationship with Silver Spoon more growth.
- This is also slightly alluded to in the episode, with Candle getting a vision about her being eliminated that night.
- Candle's reaction to getting eliminated in said vision is seen in reality in "Friend or Froze", where she is actually eliminated.
- Due to this, Paintbrush had been slated be to be eliminated in this episode, but was swapped with The Floor.
- This is also slightly alluded to in the episode, with Candle getting a vision about her being eliminated that night.
- This is the first episode where Test Tube does not make a physical appearance since her debut in "Breaking the Ice", which was almost 10 years prior.
- This gives Test Tube the longest streak of episode appearances, appearing in 24 episodes in a row prior to her elimination in "I Am Chocolate!".
- Mia Chapman, a dog, did the voice of Sprinkles and also wrote the episode.
- This is the final Inanimate Insanity Invitational episode of 2022.
- This is the first episode since Best Served Cold to feature Cabby competing.
Goofs[]
- In the credits, Lynn C. "Lenacakess" is listed as an animator twice.
- When Nickel talks to Silver Spoon about his alliance, he refers to Bowbot as simply 'Bot'. While their new name had been listed in the credits since "I Am Chocolate!", Bot canonically did not come up with it until the very next episode. This results in a strange continuity error where Nickel knows of Bot's name before they themselves do.
- At 17:14, Nickel isn't golden, but next time when he was shown, he was golden again.
- During the elimination, the Immunity Cookie can't be seen on Nickel, despite the fact that he was immune during the elimination.
