This is what happens when objects die forever. Their spirit becomes trapped here in Purgatory Mansion. It's cool and all, but the cell service here sucks. |

Purgatory Mansion was a large and old mansion located on the island. The spirits of Bow, Dough, as well as Marshmallow, Apple, resided here. It was introduced in "Let 'Er R.I.P.", and comes back in "Kick the Bucket", "Out of Body Experience" and "The Reality of the Situation".
Following the events of "Through No Choice of Your Own", the mansion was permanently deleted and was not recovered upon the contestants' return in "Objects in Mirror". A new mansion, dubbed MePad Mansion, was built in its place in honor of MePad, and due to the previously created parameters still existing, the ghosts living in the MePad Mansion still cannot leave the parameters.
Description[]
Purgatory Mansion was a large gray dilapidated building surrounded by dead trees. The house contained many hallways and rooms, including a bedroom and a bar room.
As described by Bow, one of the inhabitants, Purgatory Mansion was where objects' spirits go after they've perished. The spirits cannot leave the house, as Bow describes her spirit as "trapped", although they can briefly travel outside the windows.
Known Rooms[]
- Foyer: The entrance hall of the mansion. In the center of the house, the foyer has a circular carpet and high ceilings with a chandelier. A painting of objects playing poker is hung on the wall which Bow interacts with. A large staircase leads up to the second floor but is used by Dough to roll down.
- Bow's Room: A bedroom with purple wallpaper that contains a bed, table and music box. Bow hides inside the music box in order to scare Marshmallow.
- Bar room: A large room with a bar in it, complete with glasses, Dr. Fizz, and bar chairs. A piano is also stationed in the room that Dough plays.
- Gallery: A red room with multiple pictures hung on the wall. It's rather dusty, as Soap spends some time clearing dust bunnies out of the room.
Trivia[]
- The word "purgatory" is used literally, as it is defined as "an intermediate state after death", referring to the spirits trapped in the mansion.
- Bow's Room appears to be heavily based off of Boo's Room from Monsters Inc, complete with a flower door with a similar design, a Luxo Jr. bedside lamp, and a Luxo Ball.
- According to Taylor, a scrapped idea was that the piano in the barroom was self-playing.[1]
- Box appears in several places in the mansion throughout the series.
- "Objects in Mirror" confirmed that the mansion was generated by MePhone4, as it appeared in MeAfterlife in said episode.
- Additionally, "Objects in Mirror" revealed how the ghosts ended up in the mansion in the first place. During the Red Line Game in MeAfterlife, if a part of the person's body crosses the finish line but another part is hit by the red line, they will reincarnate as a ghost instead of coming back as normal.
- A Q&A thread by Brian Koch on Twitter confirmed that after the events of "Objects in Mirror", the mansion was rebuilt and renamed to MePad Mansion in honor of MePad.[citation needed]
