The title card that plays at the beginning of each recap.

Recaps (narrated by Brian Koch) fill people in on what happened last time on Inanimate Insanity. They can run anywhere so far between 20 seconds and a minute long, depending on the length and complexity of the episode it is recapping.

Each recap begins with the same title screen and recording "Last Time On... Inanimate Insanity", summarizes the episode speaking extremely quickly yet at an understandable pace, and ends with some sort of jokey comment followed by the saying "And that's what you missed on... Inanimate Insanity!" over a title.

The first recap appeared in Episode 4, and recaps have appeared in all episodes since. Starting with Episode 7, recaps included small bits of the episode between speaking parts usually containing character dialogue, such as "Maerc Rous!" and "Yeah!". Episodes 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, part of 11, 12, and 13 have all been recapped, and the recap guy is the same voice of the Rubber Ball commercial voiceover guy, Fan, Santa, and MePhone 4S. The Episode 11 recap was not able to be finished as MePhone4 made Episode 12, the 1 year anniversary, to be just like Episode 1.

Thus, the recap was pushed away barely after it began, much to the protest of the contestants and the recapper, all the way until it explodes over the edge of a cliff. Oddly yet interestingly, the recapper is revealed to be seemingly somehow within the recap, rather than a regular person or object.

The following episode's recap has the recapper complaining of how rude MePhone's actions were in the previous episode and that he didn't want to talk more than he had to about the scuffle. He did say that he was pressing charges before moving on with the rest of the recap.

The recapper doesn't appear in Inanimate Insanity II as he quit after MePhone pushed him off, but was contracted to finish Season 1.
