Synopsis[]

SURPRISE! MePhone has partnered with his favorite cereal brand, and yours, Springtastic! To celebrate, the contestants traverse a series of puzzles devised by Springtastic's wacky mascot, Springy the Spring, who has an oddly joyous time toying with everyone. Some will spring to the top, some will come falling down, and one... will be eliminated.

Plot[]

Cold Open[]

The final 6 contestants look up at the sky at something unknown. Cabby questions what it is, and Balloon wonders if it's important. Yin-Yang exclaims with joy that it was "Breakfast", revealing three large Floating Cereal Boxes in the sky. MePhone4 announces to the contestants that Inanimate Insanity had begun a partnership with everyone's favorite childhood cereal, Springtastic. Bot asks MePhone what "Springtastic" was, and he tells them about the slogan, and mentions the "mascot". An unknown voice asks who that could be, and Yin-Yang tells them to reveal themself. The unknown voice reveals itself as Springy. Springy explains to the cast that him and MePhone belived the show could use more of a spring in it's step. Bot, never having met Springy before, asks if they all remembered him. Springy jumps in and says that it didn't matter, and if the past mattered it would be the present. He then says that he would present them all with a new era of Inanimate Insanity.

An old commercial for Springtastic cereal is played, featuring Springy and the cereal flavors they had. The contestants clap and cheer, and Springy says the children in the commercial were special effects. MePhone then presses a button on a remote, opening tractor beams out of the floating cereal boxes. Springy then explains the challenge: The contestants would be split into duos, and would have to get through five puzzle-rooms. The first contestant to reach the top and say the catchphrase "Spring on the Breakfast" would win. Silver and Yin-Yang awaken in the yellow box, with Silver being displeased over his partner. Yang tells him that Yin took a break after Candle got eliminated, so Silver would be having to deal with him. Nickel and Balloon arrive in the blue cereal box, with the two upset with eachother after the previous episode. Cabby and Bot arrive in the pink cereal box. The first puzzle room activates, revealing a large red button, with the objective being to not press it. Balloon decides to try to fake being nice around Nickel until it was over. Nickel tells him he doesn't need to be fake nice, and wanted to talk to him. Nickel explains that he never felt like their relationship wasn't real, and that the luck stuff scared him. Balloon accepts his apology. Nickel nearly falls into a hole in the floor, but saves himself. Silver watches Yang as he tries to keep himself from pushing the big red button. Yang stops himself initially, but presses it anyway.

Cabby and Bot arrive in the second room, which Springy dubs "The Loser Room". Images of all of the Season 3 contestants appear. Bot points out the two images of Cabby, and she adds that there was technically two of them as well. This makes Bot uncomfortable, with them looking to the side. Cabby apologizes, realizing what she had said, and pulls out Bot's file hoping to put correct information into it. In a confessional, Bot is upset that Cabby only wants facts, unaware that she had issues with her memory. Bot decides to "make the facts fun", and tells Cabby some fake facts about themself. The other two duos make it to the second room, with Silver and Yang being covered in scratches and panting. Yang asks how he was supposed to know the button would summon a bear. Due to entering the second stage last, Silver and Yang were presented with images of the Season 1 contestants. Yang notes the two images of Paper and expresses confusion over how the puzzle works. He wonders what Candle would've done, but Silver tells him it wasn't about her or Yin, and he should let the chaos be his guide. Yang starts hitting random images until he hits Paper, which causes it to disappear. Yang realizes it was elimination order. Silver notices a figure move swiftly past him.

Nickel presses Soap's picture, commenting on how it was funny. The two come across their images, alongside Suitcase and Baseball. Nickel reminisces on the traps from the Maze. Balloon thought he had hated that, but Nickel tells him the past is the past, and they shouldn't let it keep them down. Cabby and Bot press more images while Bot tells her more incorrect facts about themself. Cabby comes across Test Tube's image, and frowns. The Floor asks MePhone why the challenge wasn't on the ground, worried that Springy was torturing the contestants inside the boxes. MePhone shrugs it off, believing Springy had good intentions. Springy then lands in between the two, and asks MePhone if he would like to sell Bot's likeness for promotional purposes. MePhone signs it instantly. Silver and Yang arrive in the third puzzle room: The Feather Room. The duo has to retreive floating springs and balance them with the 12 pounds of feathers. The two see "Candle", frightening Silver.

Bot and Cabby complete The Feather Room, and move on to: The Electric Fence Room, with a ton of sticks and stones spawning on the ground beneath them. Bot looks upset while Cabby ushers that they look for something off. Bot says there is, and they notice a character that looked like Test Tube in the corner of the room. Balloon stands ontop of Nickel to grab more springs. Nickel wonders what they would be without eachother. A disgusted expression forms on Balloon's face, and he exclaims that Suitcase would've hated this. He snaps at Nickel for trying to make their memories feel warm and fuzzy, but it all sucked. He adds that Suitcase was the only person strong enough to fight back against him, and that he wouldn't let him erase that. Bot hides behind Cabby after seeing "Test Tube" panicking about the fact that she hadn't seen them since before they changed their look. They ask Cabby if she could explain them to her, and she reluctantly agrees, remembering their history. Cabby approaches "Test Tube", only to realize its a fake. Yang approaches "Candle", and Silver says they couldn't just go near her. Silver adds that Candle "broke him", and threatens to throw her Tuning fork into one of the holes. Silver says that all Candle had done was hurt them. Yang wanted to talk to her again, having "feelings" towards her. Silver comments on how "soft' Yang had become, previously being a so-called "master of destruction". Yang believes Silver, and says they should throw Candle's gifts away. Silver seemingly does so.

Balloon continues to argue with Nickel, telling him he never wanted to work with him again. Nickel asks why he pretended things were good, and he says it kept things easy. Nickel retorts, telling him people wouldn't have avoided him if he hadn't tried to manipulate everyone in Season 1. He adds that he was trying to make things better, unlike Balloon, and that there wasn't anything they could do about it now. A familiar glitchy voice says "you could say sorry", and the two see "Suitcase" in front of them. Nickel approaches her, falling into a hole, only to be grabbed by Balloon. Balloon apologizes to him, saying it was exciting that he initially wanted to be friends with him. Nickel angrily asks why he kept stringing him along if he didn't want to be friends. Nickel adds that he couldn't tell if it was the real or fake Balloon, and that he was his biggest problem. Balloon blankly wishes him good luck at the vote, and drops him into the darkness below. "Suitcase" stares on, emotionless.

Cabby asks Bot why they were upset about talking to Test Tube. Bot explains that due to them being made in a very specific way, and that it was scary thinking about she or Fan would react, not wanting to make them sad. Bot asks Cabby what her parents were like. Cabby tries to explain, but admits that she didn't really know, and whenever she tried to picture a face it hurt. The two then realize that the Electric Fence room was for the phrase "sticks and stones may break my bones", and that there was no electric fence. The two enter the last room: The Gear Room. Bot opens up more to Cabby, telling her more about themself. Silver and Yang enter the Electric Fence Room. Silver tells Yang to pick up a rock, and pulls out Candle's tuning fork. Silver says he doesn't need him anymore, and uses the tuning fork to send Yang into the hole behind him. Silver explains in a confessional that he would never let anyone stand in the way of Candle's sacrifice.

MePhone is surprised with how some of Springy's toys looked like old contestants. Springy says he heard that his contestants were happy to leave him, theorizing that it was because their pasts sent them falling down, and that bringing old contestants could help them face their pasts. Cabby asks Bot what would happen if she forgot everything they were telling her, and Bot says they would tell her again. Balloon attempts to get more springs, and looks at "Suitcase". The two smile at eachother. Silver enters The Gear Room, and is surprised by "Candle" appearing behind him. "Candle" holds her hand out, and Silver happily takes it. Silver notices that "Candle" was attempting to bring him into a hole, and walks away. Cabby and Bot try multiple gears, which all fail. Springy eerily whispers to "trust the toy", with "Test Tube" standing in front of a black square on the floor. Cabby rolls over to the black square, and is given the correct gear by "Test Tube". Bot congratulates Cabby, and she uses Bow's file as a ramp, and springs on top of the cereal box. Bot arrives too, and Springy is joyous to see them, wanting them to win the challenge and come home with him. Springy says they had plans with Bot being Springtastic's new mascot due to MePhone signing the likeness contract (which he believed was for pictures). Springy also wants to use Bot's design to make a line of replica toys. MePhone believes Springy has good intentions, which Springy confirms. Springy continues to surround Bot, saying that they would never be alone again and be in a world where everyone WAS them. Bot starts to panic and puts their face in their arms, before the screen cuts to black.

Bot opens their eyes to see N-Slash-A. Bot says that they already found people who would understand them and listen to them. Bot grabs onto N-Slash-A and declares themself as "Bot, the one and only". Springy starts panicking, telling MePhone that their sponsorship would be terminated if the contract was incomplete. Springy tries to convince MePhone to keep it on, while glitching violently. MePhone, however, calls the sponsorship off. Springy says that Springtastic wouldn't stand for this, but is pushed off of the cereal box by Cabby. Springy smugly says he would spring back to the top, but notices The Floor grinning beneath him. The Floor opens his mouth, eating Springy alive. Bot is upset over MePhone losing his sponsorship, but he says he didn't like how Springy treated them. MePhone is hugged by them, and he gives Cabby immunity for making it to the top first.

In the Jail Cell, Balloon, Cabby and Yin-Yang regroup. Yin returns and is greeted by Yang who declares Silver evil. Yang says he wants Silver gone next. Balloon tries to suggest Nickel but trails off, saying Silver was a good pick. Yin-Yang asks Cabby if they should drink the Immunity Milk, but they are cut off by the sound of the Elimination Button. Outside, Nickel has an angry look on his face.

Elimination[]

MePhone asks Yin-Yang if he would want to drink the Immunity Milk, and Yang harshly yells at MePhone. Yin says that they will not drink it. Silver and Yin-Yang both tie with 3 votes, which shocks most of the contestants. MePhone says that there would be a revote, and that everyone else would have to vote either of those two. Nickel says that his alliance wouldn't be changing their votes, and Balloon protests, saying his alliance wouldn't either. MePhone explains that if they don't reach a decision, either Nickel, Balloon or Bot would be eliminated at random. Bot tries to talk sense into their two former allies, reminding their goal to be the final 3. Balloon and Nickel continue to bicker, with Balloon saying it would be worth the risk. MePhone spawns 3 floating orbs, telling the trio to hold them, and whichever one's went out was eliminated. Nickel's stays bright, alongside Balloon's, as Bot makes a horrified expression when their light goes out.

MePhone announces that Bot was the 14th contestant eliminated. Bot starts panicking, believing that they weren't ready to go and that they weren't "right". Cabby puts her hand on them, saying they were ready, and hands Bot a note. Nickel and Balloon watch on with distraught looks on their faces. MePhone asks if Bot would like to co-host, but they decline. MePhone sends Bot to Indefinite Island while looking away.

Bot arrives on Indefinite Island, landing on a sleeping Goo. Goo is happy to see them, also realizing this mean they got out. Bot and Goo turn to see Test Tube, who has a shocked impression on her face. Bot puts the note Cabby gave them on their body, signifying their name and pronouns. Test Tube hugs Bot, saying "It's you". N-Slash-A joins them, and accidentally scares Test Tube.

Trivia[]

  • This was the first episode of the series to have a live screening since "Mine Your Own Business", as well as the first episode of the series to be shown live at a theater.
  • Justin Chapman revealed that a scrapped room in this episode would've been called the "Censor Room", being inspired by the Justin Bieber censors from Season 1.
    • Cabby would have wanted to protect Bot's "innocence", and dramatically says "heck" which does nothing. Bot would respond with "Just say [BLEEP]" which would've triggered the exit.
    • Yang would have been constantly triggering the censor while swinging his arms in the air.
    • Nickel and Balloon would only be seen exiting the room, but Nickel would be laughing histerically, and saying to Balloon "I didn't know you had that in you". Balloon would apparently have done it because he "had a lot to let out".
  • As confirmed by Adam Katz on July 2, 2023,[4] this is the longest episode of Inanimate Insanity Invitational, having a total length of nearly 28 minutes.
  • The fake name Botregard Q Kazoo is a reference to Bloo’s full name from Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.
  • The Floating Cereal Boxes are colored blue, yellow, and pink, in reference to the three original teams in the season.
    • The contestants are also split into duos with their respective original teammates.
  • This episode promotes the Nickel plush and the Back to School Merch.

Goofs[]

  • When the contestants shout "Springtastic!" at 0:21, MePhone4 is slightly heard shouting it too, despite him not saying anything.
  • At 21:26, Bot's legs can be seen layered behind their body.
  • For some reason in 21:54, Cabby was seen not even golden prior to the elimination scene.
