Episode #1: Behind The Scenes Goodness![]

In Adam’s bedroom, Derek welcomes the viewers to his channel, and explains that he is the voice actor of Pickle. He and Adam are going to talk about a bunch of behind the scenes of Inanimate Insanity. The camera moves over to Adam, and he explains to the viewers that he animates and voices Inanimate Insanity.

He uses a MacBook and shares it via camera recording. He shares two windows on the screen: a Photoshop artwork that shows Pickle, and an image of the New York Yankees logo. The window is accidentally closed and Derek explains that was the background that the viewers saw on his channel, and that was during the making of the channel.

Derek shares Adam’s entire bedroom, which has a TV, a garbage can, as well as “the best thing in the entire world” that lives in the bedroom, an Red plushie. Derek throws it at Adam with his left hand, and Adam himself explains that it makes weird noises. Derek then shows what the best sound from the plushie is, which is so weird.

Derek shows that he and Adam are going to make an intro for the channel, which is interesting because he is going to make the video before making the intro, and the viewers will see the intro before making the video, and are going to see them talking about making the intro, and seeing them making the intro.

Adam explains that one thing the viewers should know about him and Derek is that when they are bored, they do really dumb things. Derek shows how fast he can chug a water bottle in record time, but Adam thought that isn’t sanitary neither healthy, but he wanted to see it anyways. Derek drank a little before so they’ll add on 2-3 seconds. Adam counts how many seconds Derek can chug a water bottle. Derek paused a little bit because but eventually continued to drink his water. After Derek drank his water, Adam recorded about 30 seconds time. He needed tissues because he blew his nose whilst drinking. When he crumpled his water bottle. He made the cover pop out, but Adam picked it up and threw it to Derek and later into the garbage can, which was pretty cool.

Adam asks Derek what he would want for his channel intro, so he decided they think of an idea. Derek explains that it’s his birthday, and later Adam. He then explains the date he was born in with numbers, and though that rhymes. They revert to Inanimate Insanity stuff, which is the intro. Derek explains to Adam that he said he could animate over a real video. So Derek’s idea to Adam is to record the fish, and make Pickle say “Hi fish.” Adam decides to remove the picture frame because he thought it looked stupid. He then shares a figure of Coiny, which he was going to pull for Firey, but decided to instead go for that one. He then imitates Coiny saying “Vote for Firey!” and chuckles. Derek thought it feels cool. The Coiny figure is accidentally dropped and lost his arm, and said that it was their fault.

Derek found a penny from the counter and tells that it’s a shoutout to the Penny Productions, and thought they are awesome. Adam sings a song about a life as a teen. He shows a program called Audacity, which is used for voice acting the characters of Inanimate Insanity. Derek shows the interesting thing about voice acting, which is a microphone that is used for Adam’s rock band in his house, and they use it as their recorder, which is very good quality, but sometimes a voice actor might get strange stuff, such as when saying “p”, they get a popping noise, which is not pleasant to hear. Both Derek and Adam made a manual contraption where placing a sock on the microphone, which allows you to get less or none of the issues, and it’s pretty cool. Adam thought it’s a pop filter, but it’s just the sock. Derek then records the line that says “Hey fish.” and tests if it’s good. Derek explains that they usually record the lines four to five times every line, so Derek decides to try again. Adam then uploads the right audio as a .wav file, and Adam then shows his iPhone, and his background is MePhone4, and the viewers could use an Inanimate Insanity background for iPhone if they are a fan of the show. Adam likes the finished product.

Later, Adam shows Anime Studio, the program he used prior to Inanimate Insanity II, and puts an overlay of the video he recorded, and puts Derek’s idea, which was to add Pickle, who sees the fish, and he goes “Hey fish.” Derek shakes the camera, so Adam asks why he’s shaking the camera. Adam shows the overlay and explains that there is now a fish in the animation. He then adds Pickle facing left. He asks Derek if he would want Pickle sitting down, so to that response Derek agreed and Adam added legs, but it sounded wrong. The video is then sped up to get to the next part once Adam rotates the legs and puts it onto Pickle. The video is sped up again and Adam adds a single arm and eyes for Pickle. He then adds the mouths he used from The Arena of Death and adds an opened smiling mouth. Adam needs audio for Pickle to say something, but the mouth isn’t moving yet, so Adam shows a tutorial on lip-syncing. He shows a method of squash and stretch, and for certain sounds (e.g. Pickle’s mouth will be opened if he goes “eh”, and after that it gets exported, and Adam wants it high-quality, and it’s rendering.

Derek concludes by explaining that he and Adam will have more like this, such as behind the scenes and sneak peeks of the next Season 1 episodes, and cool stuff that they do other than animating. Derek tells the viewer to not dislike, and after that they goof off. Derek then says “Bye!” to finish the video.
