Who will win out in this mental game of over analyzation? Find out in episode 4 of Inanimate Insanity Season 3: Invitational!

Plot[]

Pre-Intro[]

The episode begins in the middle of a challenge: Climb the Volcano and press the button for your team. Cabby is climbing up the volcano with a rope when Clover flys by her with her butterflies and presses the button. Clover then high fives Test Tube. Cabby thinks about her situation and lets go of the rope, letting Goo, in between two rocks, launch her up to the button. MePhone4 announces that 4 Pinkers, 2 Sinkers, and 5 Thinkers are safe. Silver Spoon gives Cabby a file on good manners, and in return she gives him a file on the votes. OJ yells to The Floor, the last Thinkers member not safe, to come up the mountain. Goo starts pursuing Nickel and Tea Kettle, who are also climbing up the mountain. The Floor teleports to the top, but then realizes he is unable to press the button. OJ yells at MePhone that it isnt fair, but MePhone puts The Thinkers up for elimination anyway.

Challenge[]

MePhone, over text-to-speech, introduces The Thinkers to the Elimination Button, telling them to talk about who they want to vote before pressing it. OJ tells Paintbrush that they should just vote for The Floor, who lost them the challenge. Silver Spoon gets annoyed over how much his other teammates like Candle. He tries to convince OJ and Paintbrush to side with him in exchange for viewer vote information. Yang, in his confessional, gets annoyed over how he doesn't feel included with the other "team leaders". Paintbrush then realizes that they are doing it all wrong and that they need to THINK together, and that it was their second challenge of the day.

You are cordially invited... Target: The Floor[]

Paintbrush mentions that without The Floor, they would have their privacy back, but OJ reminds them they are on a reality show. Yang starts bullying Yin for having a "brain diary", before Candle tells Yin and Yang to embrace each other. Yang says if he writes about his feelings that Yin would have to sing "A Party". Silver asks Candle how she always has the answers, and Candle tells him that she goes "somewhere special" guided by her "inner-flame". OJ tells Paintbrush that The Floor is the clear vote. The Floor then comes back from his distraction.

You are cordially invited... Target: Yin-Yang[]

Paintbrush mentions how awesome a two-in-one elimination would be, and Silver says that Yin-Yang is a menace. OJ asks his team if they are all in favor for Yin-Yang, and everyone raises their hand, except for Silver. Silver, looking at Candle angrily, says he "retracts his statement".

You are cordially invited... Target: Candle[]

Silver rants about how Candle is a "witch" that has a secret "inner-flame place" that can give her any answer. The Floor senses that Silver is jealous of Candle. Paintbrush says that they aren't gonna vote out Candle due to her being the best one at keeping them together.

You are cordially invited... Target: Silver Spoon[]

OJ says that there are no downsides to Silver leaving, and that he is probably rich already. Paintbrush tells OJ that had already won a season which shocks Yin-Yang. The Floor asks Yin-Yang how he didn't know, saying he knew it and half the time he lives under a rock.

You are cordially invited... Target: Yin[]

Yin and Yang start arguing with each other over which of them would get eliminated, but Candle says that her place of visions said only ONE person would be eliminated, one that "refused to connect". Silver yells at Candle to show him her secret place. Yin-Yang brings up that with Candle gone they could now make a "boys club". Paintbrush tells him that they are nonbinary and Yin-Yang changes it to an "anti-girls club". OJ starts getting really annoyed over his teammates, starting an argument between over him and Paintbrush over who should be the leader.

MePhone interrupts them over text-to-speech, telling them they have 10 minutes to press the button, or else he would randomly choose who would be eliminated. Paintbrush starts freaking out and OJ points to the Elimination Button, which is now covered in hundreds of cans of Dr. Fizz with Yin-Yang laughing maniacally on top.

Candle and Silver arrive at the volcano, which Candle reveals is where her inner-flame guides her. She tells Silver to look into the lava with her. Candle asks Silver if he found a way to eliminate her yet, which scares Silver into the volcano. Candle manages to catch Silver with her hand, and asks her "why me?".

Yang, declaring himself the king of Mount Fizz, tells the others that he blocked them from the Button until they meet his demands. OJ, in a confessional, explains that this was every day at Hotel OJ, and he refuses to listen to him. Candle asks Silver if anyone asked him to come there to find a way to eliminate her. Silver says that they didn't say that he shouldn't do it. Candle slowly starts losing grip of the mountain.

Paintbrush tries to brainstorm last second when OJ starts lashing out at them. OJ says that if there was only ONE leader they would be done. Paintbrush then bursts into flames and yells at OJ for managing them as if they were back at the hotel. The Floor causes the ground to shake and immediately shuts both of them up. He tells them that they dont need to overthink everything, and that they just need to VOTE. He shakes the floor again and causes Yin-Yang to fall off his mountain of Dr. Fizz.

Silver apologizes to Candle for everything. In desperation, he climbs on top of Candle and blows out her flame. The both of them fall into the volcano, with Silver looking terrified at the lava below him. The inner-flame starts talking as Candles flame becomes Purple and her third eye opens. The inner-flame uses telekinesis to save Silver from nearly dying, and tells him to look closely for his answer. Candle and Silver both fly out of the volcano, and Silver asks what he can do to find his inner-flame.

You are cordially invited... Resolution[]

OJ tells the others that negotiations have concluded. Silver whispers to Candle telling her that the lava told him a strategy, and asks her who she wants to see leave. Yin-Yang hands OJ a paper formally requesting if he could press the button. OJ yells at him to go press it and that they have 10 seconds left. Silver then talks to OJ and Paintbrush about voting for Yin-Yang, as the button is pressed.

Elimination[]

MePhone gets upset at The Thinkers for forcing him into an extra long spa day, which caused him to be temporarily blinded due to his brightness. Before he reads out the immunity vote, Silver pulls out the file Cabby gave him, looking smug. The immune contestant is revealed to be Yin-Yang, which shocks Paintbrush and OJ, and causes Yin-Yang to spit out his Dr. Fizz. He looks in shock as the first 3 votes called for him are all cancelled out.

With 2 votes, OJ is the 4th person eliminated, being his first elimination EVER. OJ sighs, finally feeling what its like to be eliminated. He starts thanking his team before Silver excitedly interrupts saying his plan actually worked. He explains that his Cabby file gave him all the info he needed about player votes. Paintbrush tells him to stop but he continues about how Candle insisted on voting out OJ, but that everyone was too scared to do it, which is why he pushed everyone to vote for Yin-Yang. Paintbrush bursts into flames shutting Silver up. Silver quietly explains that this was for the team, looking at Candle, but she tells him it wasn't his time to speak.

While MePhone struggles to pick up his remote, OJ tells Paintbrush that the team will need a new leader, with them telling OJ that they have always pulled through together. They wish OJ good luck back at the hotel. Paintbrush goes and asks the other Thinkers if they are doing okay, with all of them saying yes except for Silver, who looks at them angrily. Paintbrush however proposes that The Thinkers might be better without a leader, saying that they are all smarter together. The Thinkers get together for a group cheer, with OJ coming in. Together, they all yell "THINKERS FOREVER!". MePhone finds his remote and asks OJ if hes ready to leave, with him saying yes. OJ then gets sent away by the Fist Thingy.

Production Notes[]

Continuity[]

Cultural references[]

  • When Bot pops out of Cabby's drawer, a dizzy sound effect from Super Smash Bros. can be heard.
  • In the credits, Red from Angry Birds, Edward from Inanimate Battle, Justin from Inanimate Answers and a 3-D Trophy from this video is seen.
    • With the inclusion of Red, this means that Angry Birds appears in every fourth episode from every season.
  • When Yin-Yang presses the button, the scene is a reference to Monokuma's Punishments from the game series Danganronpa.

Trivia[]

  • The acapella version of the "Cordially Invited" theme was sang by John Mietus[1], the composer for Inanimate Insanity Invitational.
  • A sneak peak, revealing footage and a release date of this episode was shown at the end of Lifering's Exit Interview.
  • This is the first episode of Inanimate Insanity Invitational that does not start with an "S". (Not including the "The" in "The Shame of the Name".)
    • This is additionally the only episode so far to feature a team name in the title.
  • Tea Kettle is the only contestant on a team other than The Thinkers to appear past the intro.
  • Due to OJ's first ever elimination:
    • Every Season 1 contestant has now been eliminated at least once, counting Taco's loss as an elimination.
      • If Taco's loss isn't counted, Taco is the only Season 1 contestant who hasn’t been eliminated yet.
    • Paintbrush is the only Season 1 contestant left on The Thinkers.
  • The original script of this episode was almost two times longer than the original episode according to Justin Chapman.
    • He also believes that this episode had the most cut out of it out of any episode in Inanimate Insanity as a whole.
  • This is the first episode of Season 3 to not include a scene featuring Indefinite Island before the credits.
  • This is the second episode where Paintbrush openly says that they are non-binary, the first being Alternate Reality Show.
  • At the post-credits, The Pinkers picture was an April Fools sneak peak for the seventh episode of Season 2.
